Picture: Waterfall heaven.
Every cloud has a silver lining.

Followed jackal's directions to the summit, but in the true spirit of exploration for which Mountainviews is famed (haha) I decided to descend to SE from the summit. Descend SE for about 1.5km to point B (S327 085) then turn directly west down into the Mahon valley. There are several stepping stone crossing points over the Mahon River, even after heavy rain. Entire loop took 3 hours.
The horseshoe around Mahon Falls was replete with multiple other waterfalls after the never-ending winter of 2018. Ok, so all my daffodils died but the beauty of the landscape speckled with tumbling white water made up for it just a little... Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/1497/comment/19877/

Picture: I'm finished!
288 and 273

At last, on Dec 30, 2018, I climbed Knockaunapeebra with some family and friends. Why 'at last'? Well it was my 288th 600m peak, my 273rd Vandeleur-Lynam... and now it's time to put the feet up, at least until next weekend! Thanks to all in Mountainviews who keep this great resource going - I really appreciate the work and effort. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/1497/comment/20223/

Great views

16.08.2024 Climbed Knockaunapeebra from Mahon Falls car park before climbing Fauscoum. Steep track up right hand side of waterfall. Fantastic views from summit, well worth the climb though took and alternative route back down. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/1497/comment/24264/
