Wrong spot!! Dont fall off!!
by muddyboots 2 Jan 2017
As an Arderin Beg, the extra hassle and distance is really worth it! However be careful in mist as the 503m spot height on the Ordance Survey is out by a good 50 m or so. In fact to end up at this point would mean having fallen/descended the far side of Nareera North Top. The day I was there was perfectly clear and sunny and I walked over the whole summit and the correct highest point is A (V85324 53584) (see photo). The ground around is very contoured and confusion is easy. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/1488/comment/18772/

Just for the keen baggers really.
by IainT 6 Feb 2019
The least interesting summit in the Sugarloaf/Nareera group, but it's an Arderin Beg and the bagging worm was channering so it had to be done. If coming from the SW it's better done before Nareera itself. Could be tricky to find in mist. From the summit of Nareera SW top descend to and cross the Beara Way, then follow a fence northwards until it bends right and goes up steeply. Bear left here, over a small rise, then slant down northwards to pass left of two adjacent lochans and up a short steepish pull to the summit. A direct route from the lochans to Nareera has some nice slabby scrambling (or going the other way is a rather tricky and confusing descent). Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/1488/comment/20406/
