Picture: The summit cairn
Usually done in conjunction with Pigeon Rock itself, but can be done in isolation if you want. Car park can be found at HenCP (J234 278) A. Take the track directly across the road that follows the Rocky River and then the Rowan Tree River SE for about 3km. Continue SE up rising terrain which is mostly heather and quite uneven underfoot, until you reach the wall running SW-NE. Turn NE for about 700m, following the wall up a gently rising slope. When you reach the point where the wall turns north, turn SE for about 300m to reach the very nondescript top marked by a cairn, although I thought several other nearby rocks and mounds could have been the highest point. The summit is barely discernible from the surrounding landscape.
