Drought made difficult ground trek possible
Short Summary created by CaminoPat,  17 Jul 2018
Knocknabro East Top is best climbed as part of a good loop walk, taking in the West and North-East tops of Knocknabro. This summit is best reached firstly via Knocknabro West Top and then onto the North-East top. As for trekking to those tops, park at laneway to old farmhouse at W15905 83498 A.
Follow other advice given for walking to West and North-East tops.
When the fantastic views from the North-East top have been enjoyed, head-off in a southerly direction for the short walk to Knocknabro East top. Again there is no summit marker point in a raised bog area. Although there is an option to head directly back to the parked car by following the stream running south as shown on OS Map 79, the terrain is difficult to cross, as it involves an energy sapping walk down steeply falling ground, covered in long grasses and heather. The best recommendation is to head west cross open ground to Knocknabro West top and then retrace earlier steps to parked car location.
