Knocknabro East Top is best climbed as part of a good loop walk, taking in the West and North-East tops of Knocknabro. This summit is best reached firstly via Knocknabro West Top and then onto the North-East top. As for trekking to those tops, park at laneway to old farmhouse at W15905 83498 A.

When the fantastic views from the North-East top have been enjoyed, head-off in a southerly direction for the short walk to Knocknabro East top. Again there is no summit marker point in a raised bog area. Although there is an option to head directly back to the parked car by following the stream running south as shown on OS Map 79, the terrain is difficult to cross, as it involves an energy sapping walk down steeply falling ground, covered in long grasses and heather. Approaching via Knocknabro West, the two Arderin Begs (Knock East & Knock North East) are just distinguishable as two smooth bumps in the landscape, with the Caherbarnaghs in the distance. They are relatively easy to attain, especially if the weather is dry, and I found one or two trails leading to the East top, which made matters somewhat easier, although there was still some slogging through heather to be done.
