I have been on this summit a few times while wandering around Croaghnageer, and it definitely has the feel of a distinct summit, so much so that the first time I stood on it, I thought I was on Croaghnageer's main summit. Looking across the little valley with a few small loughs, to Croaghnageer in the west, I thought I was looking at Croaghanirwore, so convinced was I that this must constitute an MV top! I soon realised my mistake, but I am pleased that it does now count as a separate top. My normal route up here would be starting at the car park at the north east end of Barnes Gap, walking north along the road for a few metres, taking the track on the left hand side of the N15 up through the trees, before cutting across the bog to ascend Browns Hill. From there, the East Top is probably more apparent that the main summit of Croaghnageer, and is marked by a fairly large cairn.
