Can be approached from the East after passing over Knockmulanane main top having started at Anascaul lake car park. A steep ascent up a gully at Q58312 04887 A which could be slippy in wet conditions, gaining the summit ridge at Q57322 05054 B. Alternatively a longer western approach starting at Conor Pass and traversing Slieveanea and an Cnapan mor before descending to the Windy Gap and across Cnoc na Banoige to the summit. While Knockmulanane W is nothing special to look at, views from it are great. Here is the view north towards two nearby lakes. The one to the left is Loch Thuairin Mhárta 378m while on the skyline there is (l to r) Beenatoor, Coombane, Beenoskee and Stradbally Mountain.
