Usually done in conjunction with Tomies itself. One approach is from the north, parking in Tomies Wood car park at A (V90044 89268). Go in the gate and follow the track around to the right. At the first bend leave the track and head south into wood keeping the stream on your right for a while. The river can be crossed easily after a dry period but if it's in spate there are a few bridges provided by fallen trees. Leaving the wood you will see Tomies North on the right with Tomies itself looming on the left, with two spurs dropping down towards you. The spur on the right is steeper but gives more direct access to the north top. Head SSW towards B (V89546 88339) and proceed up the slope. The approach is mostly grass with some heather.
