Vinegar Hill lies just 1km to the east of Enniscorthy. One of the most significant and bloody battles in Irish history took place there during the 1798 Rebellion.   Vinegar Hill is the 1497th highest place in Ireland.

A lovely little hill to kick off 2016 with. The sun even came out! Didn't need to change out of my party gear. Marvelous views for such a small outcrop. Well worth a visit. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/1387/comment/18418/
