A substantial tower has been built on the summit. The spot height is given as 704m on the 1:25,000 map, but this does not square with the contours, which only go up to 680m. Spellack (speilic, ' a splintery rock') is a spur on Slieve Meelmore.   Slieve Meelmore is the 141st highest place in Ireland.

This walk proved to be a good day out for the Northern Ireland Young Walkers Club and was suitable for the range of abilities of the walkers on the day (23/04/06). The photo shows a lunch time break with the perfect view towards Bernagh. Trackback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/138/comment/2333/
