Another Route.
by sandman 26 Sep 2016
Taking the advice from the previous comment to try another route we got permission to park in a farm yard located at Cuilk S (G15405 08208) and access the open hillside. The farmer showed us the way crossing a shaky fence behind a sizable water tank it now became a very easy stroll to the summit up and down very quickly indeed. Try another route!
by paddyhillsbagger 5 Apr 2015
I parked on the R315 outside a house and got friendly advice from the owners about how to get to the top of Cuilkillew. The usual small hill scourge of heavy undergrowth deterred my first line of ascent so I ended up scaling the near vertical NW face of this hill to get to the flattish summit. Not recommended! An easier ascent might be made from the North along a tree line where the gradient is more relaxed. Great views of Nephin and Lough Conn from the summit.
