Inishvickillane was owned by Charles Haughey, Taoiseach of Ireland for three terms, who built a house there in the 1970s and introduced a herd of red deer.   Inis Mhic Aoibhleáin is the 1487th highest place in Ireland. Inis Mhic Aoibhleáin is the most southerly summit and also the second most westerly in the Dingle West area. It's also the second most westerly summit in Ireland.

Visited this many times when Charles Haughey was Taoiseach. I was in the Naval Service at the time and a ship was usually stationed close to the island when Charlie was in situ.
