Summary for Glanarough Hill : So close to the Ocean !!
Summary created by David-Guenot 13 Apr, 2014
Park along minor road beneath Firkeel Gap (A (V5313 4136), room for 2 or 3 cars). Also room for one (small) car on a grassy lay-by along the lane that leads down to Firkeel Bay, near crossroads ( Firkeel (V5297 4106)). Walk minor road uphill following the Béara Way until you reach a gate which bars the road on a sharp right turn. Do not cross the gate, cross the stile next to it and follow the Béara Way posts to the top and its derelict concrete building, crossing another stile en route. Descend via way of ascent, up and down in 30 to 45 minutes depending on starting point. Seems also possible to have a -much longer- loop walk following the Béara Way from top to GrNish CP (V5235 4200), then back to Firkeel Gap along R572. Better save it for a bright day to enjoy the views.

Fine views... probably !!

I did not include a photo in the short summary, as the weather got pretty bad as I got to the top. Here is one I took during the ascent, just before the deluge. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/1314/comment/17755/
