Park at W69675 59506 A a forestry entrance with room for 2 cars. Cross the steel barrier and walk uphill along a good forestry road to a large turning circle at W68974 59693 B.Here you have a choice, west on a narrow muddy path or north through the forest on a rough wide track.Going north you will exit the forest and turn west following a narrow track along the forest edge for a few hundred meters. Then, as the track becomes impassable, you will have to hop the fence into farmland for the last 2 minutes before you reach the trig pillar. The summit trig pillar is in the forest and sits on a small overgrown cairn. From the trig pillar you are only 200 meters north of the muddy path. Push through the trees in a southeast direction, with care, to reach a good forest ride at W68459 59640 C, then south to the path and follow the path east back to the starting point. It should be noted that permission may be needed to walk through the farmland so perhaps access using the forest is a better option. For such a lowly mountain views of the mountains of north Cork/Kerry, the Galtees, Knockmealdowns, Comeraghs and the planes landing on the runway of Cork airport were visible.
