Picture: Ballyguile Hill from coastal walk to the north.
Although small Ballyguile hill has great views in all directions including two of the lighthouses of Wicklow Head, the gracious sweep of the coast north of it towards Newcastle and many of the central southern hills of Wicklow.
One place to start is at around Hill V (T3129 9309). As of 2017 there was considerable rubbish lying around so watch out for glass. Head south across rough ground to find a track leading SW. Find a way from the track to the summit.

Picture: Dirty room with a view
Ballyguile Dump!
by eamonoc 16 Apr 2014
Started at A (T30572 92733). Just about enough room to park one car without blocking track. Headed steeply uphill on a good track to its high point ant then uphill to the left across green field and then followed mast access track to top. Despite the fine views over Wicklow and St Georges channel the amount of trash dumped up near the masts was unbelievable. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/1307/comment/16014/

Undemanding walk to an unprepossessing summit
by hibby 2 Dec 2023
Ballyguile is another hill that, were it not for the Local 100 list, I might never have been aware of. We parked in an estate called Mountainview (a propitious name!) and used the recommended access gate at B (T31385 93060).

Shortly after the start, a gap on the left offered the option of cutting straight up across the field to the summit, but we stayed on the path. Arriving at the summit ridge, a left turn brought us eastward along a grassy path towards a series of communication masts.

The summit is grassy with fences along both sides of the path. There are views of Wicklow Head, north and south along the coast and inland towards the mountains. Wicklow town itself is not visible from the summit.

2.3 km and 37 minutes return, including time spent at the top. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/1307/comment/24081/

Ballyguile Hill can also be seen well from the south. Here's a view taken from near Brides Hill (a coastal hill near Wicklow Head) Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/1307/comment/19688/

Wonderful views of wickla
by Fergalh 1 Mar 2014
I parked at the end of a row of duplex buildings (C (T31104 92930)) where there is a hole in the fence.Drop under and than head up hill to the top cross fence again and road just across field at highest telecommunications mast is the top. Wonderful views of Wicklow town.

Always ask landowner permission to cross land, never ever damage fences and beware of livestock. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/1307/comment/15877/
