Wellies
by paddyhillsbagger 3 Feb 2014
Ah yes, the trig pillar. Hidden in gorse bushes favoured by cows in the field whose feeding trough is only 20ft away and have the ground around thoroughly churned up.Should have worn my wellies but as the car was parked only 50ft away didn't think it necessary. When will I learn? Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/1292/comment/15822/

Nothing much to add to this one, drove to the mast compound as mentioned by Fergalh. It's a quick bag but if you come this far and want to stretch the legs there is a local walk near here called the Breid Leith walk so it could be worth a ramble. Dash with the Cows
by eamonoc 15 Mar 2014
Friday 14/3/2014. After a tough day trekking around the Keellogeyboy Mts with Fregalh, headed for Bawn Mt on the way home for an easy bag at the days end. It was almost dark when we arrived, the local farmer had just finished feeding his cattle, they were all happily tucked in around their feeding trough. We made our way past them into the gorse towards the trig pillar, the sound of hooves behind us alerted us to the fact that the cattle were now following us. A qiuck dash to the trig for a photo and it was off with us towards the car at full tilt with the cattle in tow, stumbling in the dark through the badly churned up field we made it safely back to the car. I wonder what these poor cows thought of the two Mt Viewers who disturbed their evening meal. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/1292/comment/15919/
