Not a "happy" visit !
by Harry Goodman  16 Jan 2015
Having read Peter Walkers Short Summary one may well ask why take the trouble to seek out this hill ? My only excuse is that it is one of the newly listed tops in my revised Local 100 !! I took the A28 NW from Newry and turned off left at J0496731709 A. Once through a crossroads I swung up right to go steeply up a narrow minor road for about 1km to J0381332002 B. From here an even narrower minor road on the right led up NNW to cross the crest of the hill. While it is driveable my preference was to park and walk the short way up to the top. I agree with Peter Walker that the high point lies along the raised ditch to the side of the road and I am sure that there may well be future debate as to precisely where this may be! My guess is around J0373732204 C but really does it matter. Up and back in 5 minutes, nothing further to add. Trackback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/1279/comment/16084/
