Summary for Tullyhappy : Vague top on flattish hill.
Summary created by simon3, Peter Walker 30 May, 2014

The gloriously-monikered Tullyhappy takes the form of a slightly-bigger-than-average fold in the Armagh countryside; with this in mind it is unlikely to raise either a physical or a psychological sweat in the Mountainviewer.

A very minor road runs over the top; its surface is of the type eaten for breakfast by 4x4s but owners of family saloons might wish to take care. There is a water company installation on the crown of the hill...in the enclosed pic (taken from the south) the most likely contender for the highest point is the embankment on the left of the car (actually just past it). The environs are pleasantly rural, and nothing more.

Not a "happy" visit !
by Harry Goodman 16 Jan 2015
Having read Peter Walkers Short Summary one may well ask why take the trouble to seek out this hill ? My only excuse is that it is one of the newly listed tops in my revised Local 100 !! I took the A28 NW from Newry and turned off left at A (J04967 31709). Once through a crossroads I swung up right to go steeply up a narrow minor road for about 1km to B (J03813 32002). From here an even narrower minor road on the right led up NNW to cross the crest of the hill. While it is driveable my preference was to park and walk the short way up to the top. I agree with Peter Walker that the high point lies along the raised ditch to the side of the road and I am sure that there may well be future debate as to precisely where this may be! My guess is around C (J03737 32204) but really does it matter. Up and back in 5 minutes, nothing further to add. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/1279/comment/16084/

An easy bag
by Pepe 14 Feb 2015
Climbed this today to kill a half hour on way to football match in Lurgan. That's about all Tullyhappy has going for it - an excuse to keep you from getting somewhere else too fast! Harry Goodman's directions are on the button. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/1279/comment/17844/

Great view

If you don't want your vehicle scratched then leave it on first minor road and walk up the tiny bit. I got a good day so views are nice of the Mournes from there. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/1279/comment/20926/
