Options are open in regard to the ascent of this hill, you can follow peter1 excellent directions or you can start from Scrb Wf (L97272 42226) room to park ,from here you will access the ridge fairly quickly allowing you to be rewarded by the views. The other option is to include Shannavara as part of a loop walk . Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/1257/comment/18541/

The perfect antidote to cabin fever!
by peter1 12 Aug 2014
This is a pleasant enough short walk into an unfrequented part of Connemara. Looking at the map, there is a track which appears, from the road anyway, to be suitable for a mountain bike. I was only able to cycle around 5-600 metres. I left the bike at A (L92988 39436).
The views are really good, although the haze reduced visibility somewhat.
Parking is available beside the GAA grounds at the turnoff for Rosmuc at B (L92806 38552) Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/1257/comment/17578/
