Head for the cross....

If coming from east take a right hand turn in Ballaghhadreen, than take second left. At 'Y' junction turn left proceed through the roadworks for the bypass and continue on past the forest (and Telecommunications mast). There is a gate just after forest on right hand side (M 60549 98584 starA). Start here and cross into field the top is visible shortly as there is a large cross and trig pillar there.

Lonely top.

Despite only being a 5 minute drive out of Ballaghaderreen, Bockagh Hill has an air of desolation and loneliness about it. There were no tracks to the cross made out of railway lines and the ground was very uneven, boggy and full of heather (which would be tough in growing season). I don't think this cross is lit up at night!

Short but Hard Bag.

Took the approach mentioned by Fergalh. There is room to squeeze a car at the mast. Then head North up the road for a few hundred metres looking for the summit cross on the left. Once you see it, head across the bog. Although the cross does not seem far away, the ground and a few fences make this a harder bag than you might think. Thankfully it's a quick one.
