This peak gives its name to the townland of Carrigadav in which it is situated,   Carrigadav is the 1307th highest place in Ireland. Carrigadav is the second most northerly summit in the Central Dingle area.

Lovely walk. 1 hour to summit. Terrain is boggy in the valley and grassy/stony on the incline. Fantastic rocky outcrop at the peak with wild goats living on it. No track - you need to make your own way up, but we went along the green road that starts at the main road (N52 13.675 W010 00.176), and then veered around to the right to climb the ridge to the top. Bog Snorkelling in Dingle!

After spending a wet morning above Annascaul Lake, decided to finish the day off on this Hill, was able to park very carefully at Q6207310509 starA. Room for one car only, the road from here on is unsuitable for cars. A word of caution, as you walk up the road the top of Carrigadav is a mere 800+mts away, don`t be tempted to head directly to summit from here as I was. The ground is very boggy and I ended up waist deep in a boggy hole. hauled my self out and made it to top in one piece, much better and drier! to walk up the road towards Glanteenassig to point Q6196909450 starB, head up directly to a nice ridge and left towards summit at Q6262309784 starC.
