Short Summary created by simon3  16 Feb 2014
Start at S82910 87027 starA where there is parking for 3 or 4 cars at a forest entrance. Use the forest track to approach the summit and gain height. After about 400m take an older track heading NW. It is shown on the OS 1:50,000 but not on the OS 1:10k or OSM layers on this website. At S824 870 starB a rough ride heads north west towards the summit. Take this for 230m (bearing 332 grid) until you arrive at rough open ground. The unmarked summit is on open ground ahead.

Another route starts on a track from S 81516 87160 starC over an old rusted gate. Follow the track for 200m and then turn right and proceed uphill to trees. Go through trees and on the far side there is an open area with some gorse and the top is clearly visible.

There are views towards the SW corner of the hills of Wicklow such as Tinoran and Baltinglass. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/1207/comment/15451/

Some gorse and trees at top.....
by Fergalh  1 Mar 2014
Drive south towards Rathvilly from Baltinglass, take first turn right and follow road. Go through crossroads and then take first right. Follow this road around mountain until reaching another crossroads then turn right just after cream coloured bungalow (there is an old rusted gate with a track (S 81516 87160 starC)). Follow track for 200 metres and than turn right and proceed uphill to trees. Go through trees and on the far side there is an open area with some gorse and the top is clearly visible.

Always ask landowner permission to cross land, never ever damage fences and beware of livestock. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/1207/comment/15829/

My Lovely Legs Destroyed!
by Pepe  5 Aug 2016
That older NW track referred to by Simon3 is very overgrown now (Aug 2016). To be avoided if wearing shorts as I was, because of all those annoying prickly bits. So badly overgrown I could go no farther so I went as far as my precious legs could endure and decided that that was the top. w Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/1207/comment/18607/

Fergalh`s Bootprints?
by eamonoc  13 Feb 2014
Feb 7th after Carrigeen Hill headed towards Corballis Hill and thanks to Fergalh`s directions arrived at S81516 87160 starC. Followed muddy cow track past two cattle feeders and then through a gap between two large mature trees into another field, uphill to the right the trees that Fergalh mentions were visible. I followed a vague muddy track through some gorse bushes and mature beech trees to reach the open summit area. Fine views towards the Wicklow Mts. Noticed a few freshly made muddy boot prints en route, I presume they belonged to Fergalh as this Mt viewer trail breaker was there the day before. From S82910 87027 starA walk 430 metres along track to junction at S82712 86953 starD
Take right hand fork and walk for 325 metres to forest ride at S82460 87077 starE
Turn off the track NNW here and beat your way up this ride through high grass and gorse for 210 metres.
At times better progress can be made by diverting off the ride into the trees to the east.
Emerge from the trees and cross over into bracken and heather.
Go west for 60 metres & cross into grassy field then 120 metres north to SH258. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/1207/comment/20507/
