A brief encounter in Kilkenny
by eamonoc 12 Aug 2014
Climbed on 9/8/2014. Started at A (S36812 60810) at pair of double gates, room here for 2 cars. Headed downhill on a good well made track to another gate crossed this, followed track as it started to climb uphill again, approx 1km from the car took rough track uphill to the right through narrow strip of clear felled woodland to edge of mature farmland went left on the rough track adjacant to the field for approx 200mts to its high point then crossed into the field and up to high point of the hill. The top of this hill is in the middle of a working farm with many cattle grazing, so the visit was brief, good views towards Clomantagh and the Slieveblooms to the north. Time taken from car to car approx 40mins and a distance of just over 3km. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/1163/comment/17607/
