Easy half hour jaunt.

Take the Chapel Hill Road out of Mayobridge, then a left after about 50m on the Mayo Road and follow to the crossroads. Go straight until a sharp left bend in the road with two farm gates on the right. The leftmost of these gates, at MoRd Cr (J163 250) is the start of a stone track that leads to the crest of the ridge, about 250m. From here, take the track on the right and where it forks (after 50m), go right until another gate is reached. Go through the gate and follow the track around a burnt area of gorse to another gate. The last 50m to the summit can be climbed without going beyond this last gate. There are extensive views of Carlingford Lough and the western Mournes. In the gap between Slievecarnane and Tamnaharry Hill (WNW) you can see an impressive standing stone. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/1149/comment/17664/

A walk through the fields.
by Wilderness 7 Apr 2021
I parked at Carrick Road on the south side of this hill at A (J148 234). You can park here without obstructing the road or any gates though DO BE WARNED : I was told by a local its not the safest place to leave a car. I climbed over the farm gate at B (J149 234) and made my own way through the fields and up to the top. It was a nice walk as long as you don't mind a few rams, cows and climbing a few gates. The views at the top were beautiful ! Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/1149/comment/22820/

Easy to find from mayobridge
by Fergalh 19 Jul 2014
Take Chapel hill road out of Mayobridge, at first crossroads take right hand road (Tamnaharry hill road). At next crossroads turn right again at top park car ( MoRd Cr (J16250 25021)) Than follow stone track up hill and after a while veer to right along track through fields to the top of the mountain.

Always ask landowner permission to cross land, never ever damage fences and beware of livestock. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/1149/comment/15867/
