And a close second...
by Conor74 24 Jul 2014
And I can vouch for vechnylad, as I was a second behind him!

We parked at A (V85008 74787) in front of a small quarry, crossed the fence into it and scrambled up the face of it - very straightforward, can be easily walked around for anyone not keen on using the hands. From there we made straight for the summit, going was boggy in places and had to keep one eye on cows in the field. Getting to the summit involved crossing another fence. Nice views over the Finnihy Valley from the summit, a very straightforward 20 minute walk from the car. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/1090/comment/17567/

Easy stroll from the West

Plenty of room to park at the junction at B (V85015 73408). Walk a few metres north to the sheep pen and east up along the fence line with the forest on your right. The ground is boggy on places but the worst of it can be avoided easily enough. If you don't manage to top out in less than 30 minutes you need to find some even smaller hills for practice!
Grand views abound from here...down to Beara and up to Peakeen, Derrygarriff, Purple and the reeks.
From the top I decided to go nuts and headed NW to the first col and then headed west to the road which is something I most definitely would not do again as hopping between clumps of reeds to avoid drowning is really not my thing.
40 min round trip. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/1090/comment/22371/
