There are two similar, but slightly different, anglicised forms of the name of this peak: Slievekeeragh, which appears on Discovery sheet 3, suggests an Irish name ending in -ach, perhaps Sliabh Caorach, 'mountain of sheep'. The other name, Slieve Keerogue Little, was recorded on the 1st edition OS 6" to the mile map, and suggests Sliabh Ciaróg, 'mountain of the beetles'. Slieve Keeroge is recorded as an alternative name for Raghtin More, the higher peak to the NW.
Slievekeeragh is the 977th highest place in Ireland. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/1070/
