There are two similar, but slightly different, anglicised forms of the name of this peak: Slievekeeragh, which appears on Discovery sheet 3, suggests an Irish name ending in -ach, perhaps Sliabh Caorach, 'mountain of sheep'. The other name, Slieve Keerogue Little, was recorded on the 1st edition OS 6" to the mile map, and suggests Sliabh Ciaróg, 'mountain of the beetles'. Slieve Keeroge is recorded as an alternative name for Raghtin More, the higher peak to the NW.   Slievekeeragh is the 977th highest place in Ireland.

Third in Urris Hills Walk
by Fergalh  16 Oct 2020
Did this as part of 4 peaks in Urris Hills . Parked to the west at 317442 starA and followed track to do Crockmain and Raghtin More first. There than followed a long walk over somewhat boggy ground to Slivekeerragh Hill and the great views in all directions. Than it was short hop over to Mamore and back to parking spot.
