Park at V78640 53567 A, room for 3 cars. If the shop is closed parking is also possible at V78656 5346 B. There is a rough track leading east from the highest point of the pass.Pick your way upwards around easy, rock shelfs onto a level rocky ridge. As you leave this ridge look for a grassy slope on the side of Knockowen to ascend to the summit cairn on a low rock shelf.
Carry on from Knockowen to Cushnaficulla.
Drop down then over rocky ground to a broad grassy col before the final easy walk to the rocky summit marked by a small cairn. Trackback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/1056/comment/6079/

New summit, new comment!

A fine traverse over Knockowen & Cushnafulla leads to Knockeirky from the Healy pass road. We took in Stockeenalackareha on the way back, but why not take in Cummeenbaun as well. To make a horse shoe walk above the fine and wild Glenrastel? Trackback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/1056/comment/6083/

Crossing from Healy to Caha

Its not often we get to add a new summit to Mountainviews, but not so long ago it happened.
The initial suggestion was made by Mountainviews member Conor74.
And what a location, high in the Cahas glowering over Glenrastel to the north, the glistening , soggy isolation of Glenlough Mountains lake laden plateau stretching to the south.
Knockeirky doesn't look so distinctive from Knockowen, but its eastern approaches are the most impressive. Trackback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/1056/comment/6154/
