Inishturk on a fine summer’s day
by Tomaquinas  10 Aug 2022
I had the pleasure of visiting this island on one of the nicest days of the year. There were some magnificent views of Croagh Patrick, the Sheefry mountains, Mweelrea and the Bens from our ferry on the way out.

The route is very simple to follow. As previously stated, veer off north at The Tale of the Tongs structure.

If I could advise anyone going from Roonagh pier in the middle of summer (or on a fine day at the very least), get there early to ensure a parking space. Luckily a farmer had parking available for a reasonable cost of €5 per day. The field is about 5 minutes walk from the pier so give yourselves time. We found the O’Malley Ferry Company great to deal with. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/1041/comment/23603/
