A quiet place
by TommyV  8 Jul 2019
Similar to Inis Mean, the middle Aran island, Inis Turk is in the middle of Clare Island and Inis Bofin and is much less visited than it's neighbours. The island itself is very small and can be hiked in a couple of hours following the way markers. If you wish to bag the high point you will need to leave the waymarked trail at the Tale of the Thongs structure. It also has a lovely quiet beach and the community centre has been refurbished into a fine bar and restaurant with great views so a day spent out here is well worth it.
