Lovely little hill just outside Castletownbere.Follow R572 west and turn left at entrance to Puxley Castle. Take small road to right of castle gates and follow road uphill. I took right through gate marked "Please keep gate shut at all times M Murphy" to the end of the tarmac before turning right onto farm track which winds its way almost to the top. A short rough climb over rocky outcrops leads to an open area where one of three rocky spots can be called the top. Fine views of Bere Island and West to Dursey. A fine hill for an evening stroll

Rather than drive up the lane, mentioned by paddyhillsbagger, we parked in a blocked forestry track at Dunboy (V65669 44049). The farm lane is a short distance further on at A (V65756 43805), with its gate and sign. Paddyhillsbagger route description is spot on, with the only thing i can add, is don't be tempted by an early set of tracks, marked on the older series maps. As the way there has been blocked for some time. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/summit/1036/comment/6003/
