Keep off the grass!

For a small mountain, the going can be decidedly tricky on the lower reaches.I started at V815307 E and made my way across the strips of rock outcrop to a narrow ravine that separates this ground from the mountain proper. In summer, the ravine has chest-high grass with pools of soft muck underneath and out of sight. The best approach is to keep on a bearing directly at the peak to pick up something of a land bridge across the ooze and follow the rock ribs up the side of the mountain, avoiding the deep grass where possible. Even allowing for the, at times hard going, a return trip should take no more than 1 hour. Trackback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/1014/comment/17609/
