Ballycastle Hill

Travelling on the R314 from Killala to Ballycastle in the townland of Billoos turn left at G14315 33875 A do not be tempted to take the next junction. Room to park at G13235 33204 B beside track into felled forestry - follow the bog pass 20meters west of parking area to summit keeping left at G12002 34453 C where there is a very faint trace of a tract that will bring you to the summit ridge and to within 50 meters of summit. Although you will have noticed a large cairn on ridge the summit itself is non descript. Views are good app 50 meters from summit across to Downpatrick Head and over Ballycastle - good views also over to Nephin, Nephin Beg range and Slieve Carr Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/1012/comment/14726/
