This hill is unnamed on OS maps, but it is mentioned in the Parliamentary Gazetter of Ireland: Collon-hill, 3¾ miles south-south-west of Wicklow, 782 feet. James Fraser describes in more detail in A Hand Book for Travellers in Ireland: Two miles to the seaward of Kilboy bridge [near Kilbride] is the Hill of Collon. It attains an elevation of 782 feet and is remarkable as rising considerably over the lower hills with which the surface of the country is varied; and from it an extensive view of the coast and country around are obtained. The townlands of Cullen Upper and Lower appear to have the same name in a variant spelling. For origin of name, see also Collin Top and Big Collin (Co. Antrim). Has been called Castletimon Hill.   Collon Hill is the 1316th highest place in Ireland. Collon Hill is the second most easterly summit in the Wicklow area.

Bashing your way to the summit
by srr45  9 Feb 2022
This one is just for the peak bagger. Finding a route to the summit from the forest road is impossible. The overgrowth is immense and be prepared for a war with the brambles and ferns. Part of my local 100 but won't be in hurry to go back. Good views of the Irish Sea on a good day though. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/1011/comment/23406/
