Re Height differences
Context of comment:The OpenTopoMap unfortunately has chosen to show heights "above datum", that is height above the WGS84 ellipsoid.

So, while we like OpenTopoMap in many respects it doesn't show heights above sea-level which is what we are all used to.

MountainViews heights (above sea-level) are however shown when you move a cursor over a summit or in the "Detail Map Features" to the left of the page.
Message:We recognise that this situation is not ideal and wish to correct it. If it were a matter of just switching to another provider we would of course have done it.

We are researching other options, however a number of previously available map layers have ceased to be useable for a variety of reasons. It may take some time to sort this out. We do have various other layers which are less confusing in this respect.
Additional points:If anyone has suggestions, let's hear them.
