"A new Arderin Beg ?" from David-Guenot Contract pics
Picture: A new Arderin Beg ? (Contract pics)

Possible Arderin Beg in the Derryveaghs
Context of comment:On the way down Drumnalifferny and its NE Top on 25. November I started my descent towards the E down to Lough Maumbeg (Loch an Mhama Beag). There is a minor top just E of it (approx. grid ref. B 93955 16182) which could possibly have the prominence to be an Arderin Beg, although this did not sound obvious from below. I stopped for a few minutes by the lough and then for another few minutes at the top for the GPS to settle and the height difference suggested was 16-18m.
Message:Maybe it could be worth measuring with proper instruments one of these days ? Note that the col with Drumnalifferny NE Top where I stood to make an estimation of the prominence is actually on the N side of the lough (not visible on the pic).

Excellent if introduceing new walkers reasonably well signed but was a little overgrown in spots and path really close to wire fencing at others. Apart from that ☺

I technically haven't bagged the summit of this hill as it wasn't listed on MV when I did the Ciiffs of Moher walk, but it would be a very small detour to bag it. I was no more than 50 meters from...
