Improvements to new, combined feature page.
Context of comment:Regular users will know we are preparing to replace the summit page with a new combined page that also shows GPS tracks. You can see it at Summits | Areas, Summits, Routes. It features an overview map and a detail map. Clicking on features on either brings up detail or options.
Message:The overview map was slow to refresh (>5 secs) and this has been improved to around 120ms which is way, way better. This improvement is particularly useful for our site visitors from Britain because there is a higher density of summits and mountain areas there.

Also we have improved the photo gallery feature. When you click on a photo in a summit description, you get a gallery of all the photos. This now shows pictures from surrounding summits if there aren't enough from the summit in question. It also includes a slide show feature.

Try this for some of the summits like Carrauntoohil which has dozens of photos, right back to 2003. There are some gems there.

Knockalongy South-West Top: Beware of the barrier
madfrankie a day ago.
We followed sandman's route to the summit which is probably the best way to explore Knockalongy and its satellites. Gentle gradients but many eroded peat hags. Worth noting that the forest barrier...

The summit is unremarkable though easy to spot as it lies along the fence.

Caherbarnagh East Top: An easy stroll from Caherbarnagh.

There is a gate to cross when coming down from the cairn at the NE end of the main Caherbarnagh ridge (I found it was actually easier to cross the fence just right of the gate). There is a faint t...
