Irish Mountain Gathering 2020
About this time of year we begin to collate our awards list - this is the list of those who have completed various MV mountain lists who we present with their awards at the Gathering.

We individually email those who we think are eligible, asking that they confirm their completion and attendance at the event. However, it's not impossible that we may miss someone. Also, if you have not yet completed a list, but are so close that you might complete before the event, we will not pick you up in the normal way. So, if you think you qualify for a particular award, please let me know by messaging me here on the site, or directly to davidowens1513@gmail.com

See you at the event which promises to be a pretty good show ... see flyer attached...

This spot is easiest located by heading towards Slieve Maan from the Military Road and then heading north along the extraction track. It is not a place for visiting other than for summit bagging o...

Given that we are all restricted to a 2KM radius for exercise activity, where in Ireland would be the best place to be located, your starting point for your walk must be within your radius, and be...

Slieve Maan: Worth the walk

Fananierin: The best views for least effort.
march-fixer a week ago.
In view of the COVID-19 warnings, this is an out of the way route that hopefully provides plenty of solitude. On a clear day it provides some of the best views to be had in Wicklow. The only point ...

Ballyteige: The trees are back

The last 100m of the hill is young trees planted on old forest. You will have to negotiate piles of rotting wood, no path, spiky firs, boggy bits, trenches etc to get to the top. Great views but t...
