Galtees Meet
Hi all and a very big thanks to my club-mate Liz50 for a super round of the Galty's yesterday.

Six of us including the intrepid duo of Geohappy and Jackill of MV fame (or notoriety, perhaps!) had a really lovely walk ascending through a hail shower from Kings Yard slowly and inorexably to the top of Galtymore, then on around west as far as Lyracappul, and a delightful descent through the gorgeous glaciated valley back to our parking.

Seven hours of watching scudding clouds, some by-passing us, some going overhead, a little sleet, lots and lots of sunshine, and views, splendid and majestic, patchwork farm fields, dark and brooding forest, faraway turbines twirling, the counties of Munster spread about us at our feet, uplifting us to the heavenly grandeur of this hillwalker's Valhalla, booted warriors striding over lands fit for kings and queens, Regal and magnificent. Days like these remind me why I love this fabulous island, and why as long as my heart beats and my legs can carry me and I have the company of the like minded, I will walk and walk and walk...
