Bagging Malta
If you're interested in bagging Europe's highest tops, Malta surely offers the simplest bag on the continent, if not the planet. The highest point is 253m on the south coast, overlooking the picturesque Dingli Cliffs, and there is a small radar station next to it, so it's easy to find. It's about a 20km drive from Valetta. The island slopes gently from north to south over 15km so there is no sense of 'climbing' - in fact there is a road right next to the high point! Five steps and two knee bends will take you from your car to the 'summit' - but its worth it as the views there are tremendous. Then head straight to the nearest bar to recover.
