Re Suggestion for site
Thanks for your suggestions (would prefer if you put them in the Suggestions Forum!)

The trouble about listing in terms of length/duration is that for any person at a given location wanting a walk the result would be a mix of walks ranging from near to 100s of km away which mightn't be so useful. However it might make sense to allow a "filter" narrowing the choices in any area to a given range of walks. Will consider that one

Sketch map. The issue here is that all the material on this site comes from volunteers. Creating sketch maps, particularly to a decent standard, isn't so easy. So what we have gone for so far is to a. allow people enter diagrams, sketches etc as a graphic b. provide a simple system for showing the route on the OS and small sidebar map. As interest grows in the walks section we will revisit and improve this. As always, if someone reading this has the skills to create maps or improve the system we will certainly take their help.

This is a community site. This has advantages in that we can get a little information from a lot of people and have widespread coverage as a result. This has the disadvantage that we can only easily get a little information from most people!

Foardal: Beyond a shadow of a doubt

The French writer Maupassant used to say he had lunch in the Eiffel Tower every day because it was the only place in Paris that he couldn't see the thing. A similar view might be taken of Foardal,...

Foardal: Simple approach from NW
Collaborative entry Last edit by: Colin Murphy a week ago.
If you want to do this in isolation, the simplest route is from the car park at V882790, and then heading SE directly up the heathery slope for 1km. The summit itself is a broad heathery mound.

Derrygarriff: Fine summit, easily reached.

There are access issues around Moll's Gap, so suggest starting at car park at V882790 and proceeding up the heathery slopes to Foardal - about 1km to the SE, before walking the 1.5km to the SW to ...
