Death on Dingle Peninsula
A woman, from the local area, is believed to have fallen near the summit of Stradbally Mountain in Co Kerry just hours before Storm Imogen hit the country.
The victim in her 40s plunged to her death while climbing Stradbally Mountain near Dingle in Co Kerry with a group of friends.
The woman, who is from the local area, is believed to have fallen at the summit at around 2pm and died from her injuries soon after.
Efforts by the Shannon Rescue 115 Helicopter to recover the body were hit by strong winds and horrific weather conditions as Irelandís latest storm brewed.
It was close to 7pm when local rescue teams were able to recover the remains.
The womanís body has been taken to Kerry General Hospital where a postmortem is due to be carried out. Both the Dingle Coastguard Unit and Kerry Mountain Rescue were involved in the rescue search.
