"Dawn and lighthouse from Killiney Hill." from simon3 Contract pics
Picture: Dawn and lighthouse from Killiney Hill. (Contract pics)

Returning sun, breaking dawn.
Dawn on the 22nd will at 130 deg, or approx SE at 08:37. Places on the SE side of the Wicklow Mtns with a good view of the sea would give you sunrise over the sea. Certainly you can see the sea from Killiney Hill, the Sugar Loaf, Little Sugar Loaf, Tonelagee etc
I quite often go up Killiney Hill myself, catching occasional glimpses of dawn over Wales. Might even do it this year on the 22nd, my birthday but not if the weather looks misty. The place has a whole subculture of dogs and dog lovers.
There'd be plenty of places to catch dawn over the mountains too, but I've never tried that.
Anyone any recomme.. by AdrianneB   (Show all posts)

There is enough space to park one car at 100 167, just on the edge of a wood around a sharp u-bend. Proceed north for 100m before turning NE up a gentle slope, although the terrain is treacherous ...
