FEI SHEEHY CHALLENGE 2014
This is a commerative series of challenge walks, an interesting idea.

More information is on the Walkers Association website.

REGISTRATION OPEN - WITH A LIMIT OF 100 WALKERS!

Organised in association with Galtee, Nire Valley Bogtrotters and Peaks Hillwalking Clubs - There are three variations of walks over three great mountain ranges!

Treble Crossing - To 'cross' the Comeragh, Galty and Knockmealdown Mountains over three consecutive days, covering a cumulative distance of about 95kms with a cumulative height gain of 4,200m (approx).

Alternatives:

Double Crossing - To cross any two of the three ranges in any two of the specified days for each crossing.

Single Crossing - To cross any one of the three ranges in any one of the specified days for each crossing.

.

Registration Fees (Non Refundable) Treble Crossing - 50 Double Crossing - 40 Single Crossing - 25.

There will be the option of raising additional sponsorship.

As the event is pre-registration only, you will need to decide now how many days you want to walk. You will not be able to register for one day now and then decide, after registration closes, that you want to do two or three days. If you're unsure, register for the three.

Foardal: Simple approach from NW

If you want to do this in isolation, the simplest route is from the car park at V882790, and then heading SE directly up the heathery slope for 1km. The summit itself is a broad heathery mound.
