Shooting the Devil
There is a long established rifle range at Barnane on the side of the Devil's Bit which, if memory serves me right, is marked on the OS maps. I understand that the range has been little used in recent years. It has recently been leased and the promoters are encouraging its use.

There was controversy on Tipp FM radio recently with claims that stray bullets were likely to land in a local school yard. The counter claim was that shooting takes place in the opposite direction, i.e. away from the school.

I won't judge the rights and wrongs of this local row. The Bit is big enough to easily avoid the range if you're concerned.
