Antrim Coast - Fair Head .
One of the tasks that lies before us, not to be attempted until we have documented our hills, is to map and detail a walk around the coast of the island of Ireland. It will be another labour of love. Already some of our members have commenced preparatory forays. Behold Gerry McVeigh's latest film and consider what is to come. Gerry's own words summarise the film perfectly: "A stunning walk along the North Antrim coast from Ballycastle to the vertical heights of Fairhead.

Following a rough track along rugged coastline, passing long abandoned industrial workings and a magnificent waterfall before climbing around 600 feet to the high ground of Fairhead.

The cliff top can be followed closely for miles until dropping down to the coast again at Murlough Bay. Views are breath taking across to Rathlin Island and the not too distant Scotland and her Isles. Dark and wild loughs turn heads inland whilst churning waters, dolphins and boats turn heads seaward."
It is with sadness.. by jackill   (Show all posts)
