Re Tents and camping
There was a recent discussion here on tents and camping. Several MVr's contributed and they clearly had both knowledge & experience of equipment, technical specs and practical usage. I have the privelage of camping from time to time with MountainViewer member mad2climb who contributed to the discussion.

mad2climb is one of the most enthusiastic outdoorsmen you would ever be likely to meet. No challenge is too big, nor any problem insurmountable for him. He can make shelters from nothing, and sleep anywhere. That's why I wasn't surprised to find his tent fully pitched up a tree on a recent weekend camp with our scout group. A most remarkable sight to be sure, but not surprising! He is also very careful to maintain and protect his gear which is vital to longevity. Don't try this at home though - most of us wouldn't get away with it!
