re Conor74 on Rapporteur
Nah, this isn't a court. The proposed rapporteur would be more like the person that finds the issues in a meeting and puts them on the whiteboard. A simple job.

The need arises because of the nature of internet forums. Yesterday had 907 visitors to the website, a typical number. The vast majority of these are occasional visitors many of whom will read the forum. Probably for every person slugging it out as you put it there are 100 who are watching. However when there are funny, involved and complicated exchanges on the forum they will often go away wondering what it is all about not having been following the preceding fifty contributions. Or they may feel that the issue is too complex and intense. See the contribution yesterday that said " I promised myself not to put a toe back into this shark infested debate ".

So all the rapporteur does is list the points and arguments made. Helps keep the conversation straight for regular participants. Helps uncover what's happening for the vast majority who view the site. Can be published periodically in the newsletter or on the site.

This is a picture of Buckaun East taken from the valley below.. Obviously the safest way to go up and down this is to the left or south of the ridge.
