I'm back...
Well... over the summer my time has been spent doing gigs with my band, camping and hillwalking, being involved with the Mourne Youth Rangers and spending time with my family, and I have somewhat neglected MountainViews. So I felt that it was time to start making contributions once again!

Well as I mentioned before, I have been attending the Mourne Youth Rangers.
It is based in Silent Valley, and we do a lot of work in and around that area, aswell as further afield. The work we are involved in includes: Environmental Monitoring and Surveys, Inspecting Rights of Way, Developing of Tree Nurseries, Conservation Projects and Countryside Maintenance.
This type of work is exactly what I'd like to be involved in in the future. To be a Mourne Ranger would be perfect, but I'd have to be extremely fortunate, as there is currently funds for only one ranger for the whole of Mourne. However, if the National Park proposal was to go through, there would be many more jobs available.
The Mourne Youth Rangers is a fantastic programme and I will definitely be attending it again next year.
