"Sign about remote controlled barrier." from simon3 Contract pics
Picture: Sign about remote controlled barrier. (Contract pics)

Controlled access on a Coillte forest.
At the forest entrance to the SW of Ballyvouskill (Paps/Derrynasaggart area), we came across an open barrier at around 14:00. When returning at around 15:15 the barrier was shut.

We gathered that the barrier can be opened and lowered by radio control judging by the antenna and lifting mechanism to one side.

While not affecting walkers much unless you have a foolish urge to drive into lockable forests, this seems a new level of gadgetry. Or has anyone else seen such?
