MOTHER KNOWS BEST
All visitors to the beautiful Mourne Mountains will be pleased to read that the newly fabricated track on Binnian is safe. Safe – because it has a guardian, a fairy godmother. I know this because during the recent Mourne Seven Sevens challenge walk, I watched him berate Big Jim from the Spartan Rednex Club and organisers of the event – something about the effect the event was having on the track. Then further filling my cup of confidence, I spied him also correct 2 young girl runners coming up the hill for not using the proper track. This was within a 15 minute window in a 9/10hour walk, so we can be sure he delivered even more castigation during the day.
I related this to a friend later who suggested our guardian couldn’t have much to do. “Much?! Much?!! I choked. “Heavens, he has the whole mountain to protect!”
